Chapel-en-le-Frith or "Chapel" is a small Derbyshire rural town on the edge of the Peak District National Park, part of the Pennine Range, near the border of Cheshire. Once the "Capital of the Peak", the town was established by foresters in the Royal Forest of the Peak of the Park, who were given permission by the Earl of Derby to build a chapel in the forest. This led to the French-derived name of Chapel-en-le-Frith ("Chapel in the Forest).
Chapel is situated approximately 6 miles north of Buxton with good road and rail links to Stockport, Manchester, Buxton and other areas of Derbyshire and the North.
The school is located on an attractive site close to the centre of the town, and serves Chapel-en-le-Frith and the surrounding rural areas.
